Canberra University Toastmasters Club is part of Toastmasters International (www.toastmasters.org).
We meet on alternate Fridays 2pm - 3pm.
We are currently meeting in Building 9 Room C18, at University of Canberra.
Building 9 is not far from College St (see map below), and there is parking off Bimbimbie St within the campus. You can enter Bimbimbie from Kirinari St, for example. In Building 9, level C is the third floor and room 18 is a tutorial room at the south-west corner of the building, looking out to Bimbimbie St and Building 20 (adjacent).
We welcome visitors and new members.
Every Toastmasters club has this mission statement:
'We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.'
By joining in our meetings you can overcome nervousness; you can practise getting to the point and having a speech structure that supports your message; you can learn to speak with conviction and to think fast; and you can build your leadership skills. Meetings are informal and fun.
Below is a map of the campus which shows the buildings (numbered) and main parking areas. Building 9 is to the left side of the map, near the bottom (Ginninderra Drive runs along the top of the map).
Meetings during 2016 are on:
